Dhaka University is ramping up campus security by deploying proctorial team members in two daily shifts at three female residential halls—Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall, Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall, and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall. The decision was finalized in a meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan.
From 6:00–9:00 AM and 6:00–10:00 PM, two proctorial staff will be stationed outside each hall to ensure the safety and free movement of female students. Contact numbers for the Proctor’s Office will be displayed prominently at each gate for immediate assistance.
The university will also request police patrol vehicles to be stationed near the halls and plans to modernize the proctorial team with new vehicles. Additionally, efforts to remove vagrants and limit outsider presence on campus will be intensified. The initiative reflects DU’s broader commitment to strengthening student security amid growing concerns.
