Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Shahjahan Mia has assured residents that all sacrificial animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha will be cleared within 12 hours, starting from the afternoon of Eid day.
Speaking at a press briefing at the National Eidgah on Thursday, June 5, Shahjahan Mia stated that over 10,000 cleaners, city corporation vehicles, and support from other government agencies have been mobilized to ensure a swift and efficient cleanup.
A dedicated hotline and control room will also be operational to address public complaints, with both DSCC and private waste collectors tasked with responding promptly.
While declining to comment on the blockade at Nagar Bhaban by BNP leader Ishraq Hossain’s supporters, Shahjahan confirmed that essential departments—waste management, transport, and warehouse—are still functioning. He also emphasized that ward offices remain open and committed to delivering uninterrupted public services.
