Dr. Yunus Will Step Down by June 30, Confirms Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary

Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed on Sunday (May 25) that Dr. Muhammad Yunus will not remain in office beyond June 30, firmly rejecting speculation about a possible extension. The statement came after a meeting between Dr. Yunus and 20 political party leaders at the State Guest House Jamuna.

Alam stated that all participating parties expressed full support for the interim government’s ongoing reforms, judicial initiatives, and electoral roadmap. He reiterated that the upcoming national election will be held between December and June, with no delay past June 30.

“All leaders have shown satisfaction with the plan and pledged to stand by the interim government,” he said.
