Dr. Muhammad Yunus to Receive King Charles Harmony Award 2025 in London

Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will be honored with the prestigious King Charles Harmony Award 2025 during a royal ceremony in London on June 12. At the invitation of King Charles III, Dr. Yunus will travel to the UK on June 10 and is scheduled to return to Dhaka on June 13. The award, presented by the British royal family, recognizes exceptional contributions to peace, social harmony, and global leadership.

Introduced in 2024, the first recipient of the King Charles Harmony Award was former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The award is presented under the patronage of The King’s Foundation and is regarded as one of its most distinguished honors.

Dr. Yunus is expected to meet King Charles III during the award ceremony and may also hold meetings with key UK figures, including the British Prime Minister, bipartisan political leaders, and the Commonwealth Secretary General. Efforts are underway to include a bilateral component to the four-day visit.

This marks Dr. Yunus’ 11th international trip since assuming the role of Chief Advisor, following recent visits to countries including Japan, where he met with the Japanese Prime Minister during the Nikkei Forum. A potential state visit to Malaysia is also being considered for mid-July.
