Dakota Johnson has revealed she shares a “weird” but cherished friendship with Madonna, a bond that began nearly 30 years ago when her stepfather Antonio Banderas starred alongside the pop icon in the 1996 film Evita.
Speaking to E! News, Johnson, 35, said she has “really loved” Madonna for years and later grew closer when they were briefly set to collaborate on a project, which ultimately fell through.
“We’ve always kind of circled each other,” Johnson explained. “She is like an energy to be near that is so beautiful and so wild. It’s just cool that she even wants to talk to me.”
Although rarely seen together, the Materialists star and the 67-year-old singer remain close friends, recently posing together at a mutual friend’s birthday party in July.
