Cox’s Bazar Gears Up for Eid-ul-Azha Tourism Surge Amid 10-Day National Holiday

Following Eid-ul-Azha, government, private, and autonomous sector employees in Bangladesh will enjoy a rare 10-day holiday, prompting a tourism boost in Cox’s Bazar. While the first five days will be spent on religious activities and Qurbani preparations, hotel bookings indicate a sharp rise in visitors from June 9 to 13. Star hotels are already seeing 80–90% of rooms reserved. The district administration and tourism operators are preparing for a major influx—potentially over 1 million tourists—by enforcing measures to prevent overcharging in transport, accommodation, and food services.
