Court Orders Seizure of Properties Owned by Ex-Military Adviser Tarique Siddique and Family Amid Corruption Probe

A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered the seizure of 24.80 bighas of land, five plots, and five apartments owned by Tarique Ahmed Siddique—former military adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina—his wife Shaheen Siddique, and daughter Nurin Siddique.

The order, issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib, follows a petition from Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Md. Monirul Islam. The ACC is investigating the trio for allegedly accumulating wealth beyond known sources of income.

The seized assets include a seven-story house in Dhaka’s Baridhara DOHS, multiple high-end apartments, four plots in Eastern New Township, and one in Bashundhara Residential Area. Additionally, land in Rupganj (Narayanganj) and Kaliganj (Gazipur) was also ordered seized.

The court’s decision came after ACC investigators reported attempts by the accused to transfer or sell the properties, potentially jeopardizing the ongoing corruption investigation.
