Court Imposes Travel Ban on Former NCP Leader Gazi Salahuddin Tanvir Over Graft Probe

A Dhaka court on Tuesday imposed a travel ban on Gazi Salahuddin Tanvir, recently removed from his post as Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), amid an ongoing corruption investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The court also ordered the blocking of Tanvir’s National Identity (NID) card to prevent him from fleeing the country. Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib issued the orders based on two ACC petitions.

According to ACC officials, Tanvir is accused of amassing hundreds of crores through abuse of power, extortion, tender manipulation, and other corrupt activities. He was relieved of his party position on April 21 following these allegations.
