Chief Prosecutor Advocate Tajul Islam announced that a formal complaint will be filed on Sunday against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun in connection with alleged crimes against humanity committed during July–August.
Speaking at an event at the National Press Club on May 31, marking International Disappearance Week, Islam stated that the tribunal’s investigation agency submitted its report on May 12. The report includes an audio recording allegedly capturing Sheikh Hasina issuing direct instructions related to the incident, which has been subjected to forensic analysis and submitted as evidence.
The chief prosecutor asserted that the findings indicate the violence was premeditated and that top-level leadership, including Sheikh Hasina and her associates, were directly involved. The complaint is part of an effort to bring accountability for enforced disappearances and alleged state-sponsored atrocities.
