Chittagong University (CU) awarded an honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) degree to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in recognition of his remarkable global contributions to poverty alleviation through microcredit and his advocacy for peace.
The honor was presented during the university’s 5th Convocation Ceremony, held Wednesday afternoon on CU’s central playground. CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yeahia Akhter formally presented the degree to Professor Yunus on behalf of the institution.
Also present at the ceremony were Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Md. Kamal Uddin.
