A case has been filed at Khan Jahan Ali Police Station following the assault on Safwan Ahmed Ifaz, a student of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and a member of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of the BNP. The attack occurred on May 27 near KUET’s Fulbari gate.
The First Information Report (FIR) names 10–12 unidentified individuals as accused. The complaint alleges the involvement of individuals connected to underground political activities at KUET and possibly local affiliates of the banned Awami League and its associated groups, based on the victim’s political affiliation. Police are currently investigating the incident.
