To facilitate smooth and safe travel during Eid-ul-Azha, the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched its special Eid bus service starting Tuesday, June 3, continuing through June 14. Around 650 buses will operate outside regular routes as part of this ‘Eid Special Service,’ with advance ticket sales having begun on May 24 at BRTC depots.
The announcement came during a coordination meeting at the BRTC head office in Motijheel, chaired by the newly appointed BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla. He emphasized that all buses must depart on time, carry only the permitted number of passengers, and strictly adhere to BRTA-approved fares.
To ensure safety and comfort, each bus must pass a fitness test and display a sticker with the driver’s name, mobile number, vehicle registration, and control room contact for passenger feedback. A 24/7 control room has also been activated (Phone: 02 41053042, Mobile: 01324293974) to monitor services and respond to passenger concerns.
Officials from BRTC’s operations, technical, and administrative departments, along with all depot and unit heads, participated in the planning session through video conference to coordinate efforts nationwide.
