BPL to Share Ticket Revenue with Franchises Meeting Player Payment Obligations

For the first time, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council has announced it will share ticket sales revenue with franchises that have fulfilled their player payment obligations from the last season. The decision was finalized during a recent council meeting, as confirmed by a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) press release on Tuesday.

Franchises that submitted verified financial statements and player payment documentation will receive a portion of the revenue, with disbursement scheduled ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The four teams that reached the playoffs will receive Tk 55 lakh each, while the other three franchises will get Tk 45 lakh each.

However, final disbursements will be adjusted proportionally based on how much of their outstanding dues each franchise has paid. The move marks a significant step toward improving financial transparency and accountability within the BPL.
