Police have recovered the bodies of a mother and her two sons from a house in Rakshit village, Gangutia Union of Dhamrai Upazila, Dhaka. The deceased have been identified as Nargis Akhtar (42), and her sons Md. Shamim Mia (18) and Solaiman (7). The bodies were discovered in a bedroom around 3 PM on Monday, June 2.
According to Nargis Akhtar’s daughter, she went to check on her mother after multiple unanswered phone calls. Upon arriving, she found the door locked from the inside and, after receiving no response, broke it open to find her mother and two brothers unresponsive.
Dhamrai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monirul Islam confirmed the recovery and stated that the cause of death remains unknown. The bodies will be sent to Dhaka for autopsy on Tuesday for further investigation.
