BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has stated that the BNP is willing to welcome individuals who previously supported the Awami League but did not obstruct BNP’s political activities and are socially respected.
Speaking at a program organized by the Chittagong Divisional BNP on Saturday, Khasru emphasized that this is a valuable opportunity to expand the party’s base.
“For the first time in a long while, we have a chance to bring in such members—and we must make the most of it,” he said. “It’s a matter of pride to join the country’s largest political party, the BNP.”
He added that new member recruitment should be conducted publicly, with each party unit holding organized events to induct new members in the presence of all. “These activities should be promoted widely—both in mainstream media and on platforms like Facebook—to build momentum and transparency,” he said.
