BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has come under fire for a controversial comment made in response to NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah’s claim that “BNP runs on money from the Awami League.”
In a strongly worded retort, Dudu said, “If all BNP leaders urinated together, the resulting stream would flood into the Bay of Bengal. We don’t make statements we can’t stand behind.” His remark quickly ignited a wave of backlash across social media platforms, with many users criticizing the tone and language.
NCP leader Sarjis Alam reacted sarcastically, posting two Facebook statuses on Tuesday evening (May 20) that mocked Dudu’s comments. Amid heavy rainfall in Dhaka, Alam wrote, “Is this downpour just rain or a mass program announced by Dudu Bhai? I’m confused!”
In an earlier post, he added, “Instead of all those efforts over the past 16 years, Dudu Bhai could’ve just called for a mass urination campaign!”
The remarks have triggered a mix of outrage and ridicule online, with many calling for a more respectful tone in political discourse.
