Billy Joel Halts Tour Due to Health Concerns, Cancels All Upcoming Dates

Music legend Billy Joel has announced the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates due to health issues stemming from a recent medical diagnosis. The 76-year-old singer, who has been on his long-running In Concert world tour since 2014, was set to continue touring through 2025 and into 2026.

Joel revealed that he has been diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a condition that causes a buildup of fluid in the brain, leading to difficulties with movement and cognitive function.

“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Joel wrote in a statement shared on Instagram.

According to an official press release, his symptoms—including problems with hearing, vision, and balance—were worsened by recent performances. Under his doctor’s advice, the Uptown Girl hitmaker has begun targeted physical therapy and has been instructed to pause all performances during his recovery.

“Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health,” the statement continued. “He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”

Fans who purchased tickets for the now-cancelled shows—some of which included co-headlining appearances with Rod Stewart, Sting, and Stevie Nicks—will receive full refunds through their original method of purchase.
