Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be observed as a bank holiday in Bangladesh, with all types of transactions remaining closed.
Share market transactions will also remain suspended for the day. However, main branches and select important branches of banks will remain open for internal work.
According to Bangladesh Bank, July 1 is observed annually as the ‘half-year closing’ in the banking sector, allowing banks to prepare their half-yearly financial reports by consolidating six months’ accounts. To facilitate this process, banks suspend public transactions on this day.
Meanwhile, banking transactions will continue until 6 PM today (Monday, June 30).
