Bangladeshi Youth Killed by BSF Firing at Chuadanga Border; BGB Calls for Flag Meeting

Ibrahim Babu (32), a Bangladeshi youth, was shot dead by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) at the Jhanjhadanga border in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga on Wednesday morning. According to his family, Babu was cutting grass near the border for his cows when BSF members from Gede camp opened fire, killing him on the spot. The family claims that BSF personnel later took his body across the border.

Darshana Police Station confirmed the incident after speaking with the family and locals. Chuadanga-6 BGB commander Lt. Col. Nazmul Hasan stated that BSF reported shooting a person during a chase with alleged gold smugglers but has not confirmed Babu’s identity or the body’s status. The BGB has strongly protested the killing and called for a flag meeting with BSF authorities.
