Bangladesh women’s football team will face Turkmenistan in their final Group C match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, on Saturday at 6:30 pm (BST).
Having already created history by qualifying for the final stage of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup for the first time with a 2-1 win over Myanmar, the team will look to finish their group campaign on a high note.
Forward Ritu Porna Chakma, who scored both goals in their historic victory, is expected to play a key role again against Turkmenistan, the lowest-ranked team in the group at 141.
Bangladesh leads Group C with six points from two matches. Myanmar sits second with three points, while Bahrain and Turkmenistan have one point each. Even if Bangladesh loses and Myanmar wins their last match, Bangladesh will still top the group due to their head-to-head win over Myanmar.
Head coach Peter Butler reported that the team is in good shape, with only a few minor injuries being managed before the match.
