Riding high on recent T20 success, Bangladesh is set to take on the United Arab Emirates in a two-match T20 series starting Saturday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The match will begin at 9:00 PM (BST) and will be broadcast live on T-Sports.
This series marks a significant milestone for Liton Das, who will lead Bangladesh as the permanent T20 captain for the first time. Despite struggling with the bat during Bangladesh’s historic 3-0 whitewash of West Indies in December, Liton’s tactical leadership earned him the captaincy full-time. He now aims to build long-term success, using the UAE series as a stepping stone.
Bangladesh enters the series with an unbeaten record against UAE, having won all three previous encounters, including a 2-0 series win in 2022. With 71 wins in 182 T20 matches overall, the team looks to improve its win-loss ratio and extend its current four-match winning streak.
Liton expressed confidence ahead of the series, downplaying pressure over his form and highlighting the importance of responsibility among players to drive the team forward. For UAE, the series offers a valuable chance to test their skills against a stronger side ahead of upcoming tournaments.
This short but impactful series also serves as part of Bangladesh’s preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup.
