Bangladesh Launches Market Intelligence Platform to Boost SME Export Competitiveness

The Market Intelligence Platform (MIP), a new digital initiative designed to enhance Bangladesh’s export competitiveness, was officially launched at a ceremony in Dhaka’s Gulshan area. Developed under the Export Competitiveness for Jobs (EC4J) project with World Bank support, the platform will provide real-time trade data to help exporters—particularly SMEs—make informed decisions and explore new global markets.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, speaking as chief guest, emphasized that the MIP would empower small and medium exporters in sectors like leather, footwear, plastics, and light engineering to compete internationally. The platform was created by a consortium comprising LightCastle Partners, Shooting Star Limited, and NKSoft Corporation.

The launch event also featured a panel discussion on export diversification, with participation from BIDA, the World Bank, industry experts, and exporters. Over 120 stakeholders attended the program.
