The Bangladesh Army organized a free medical and medicine distribution camp on Sunday at the Osmanpur Army Camp in Ghoraghat upazila, Dinajpur, treating over 500 patients and distributing essential medicines.
The initiative, conducted by the 66 Infantry Division of Rangpur Area, was part of a broader humanitarian program aimed at supporting underprivileged communities. In addition to healthcare, food aid was provided to more than 200 helpless families in the area.
Key army officials including Lt Col AKM Alamgir Hossain (10 Field Ambulance) and Lt Col Morsalin Mahmud (25 Bir Support Battalion), along with other military doctors and personnel, were present at the event. The medical team also offered preventive health advice and awareness education alongside treatments.
Locals, who had gathered in long queues since morning, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting how it brought much-needed healthcare services to their doorstep—eliminating the need for costly and distant city travel.
Residents described the effort as a shining example of the army’s commitment to public welfare. Army officials assured that such community outreach activities would continue in the future.
