After a disappointing 37-run defeat in the opening match, Bangladesh are determined to bounce back against Pakistan in the second T20 International, scheduled for Friday at 9 PM at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The match will be broadcast live on T Sports.
With the three-match series on the line, Bangladesh must win to stay alive. Despite early promise in the first game, the team faltered across all departments—batting, bowling, and fielding. Pakistan posted a formidable 201-7 after recovering from early setbacks, aided by Bangladesh’s inconsistent bowling and poor fielding.
Though skipper Liton Das and opener Tanzid Tamim started strongly in the chase, a middle-order collapse saw Bangladesh bowled out for 164 in 19.2 overs. Pacer Hasan Ali starred for Pakistan with career-best figures of 5-30. Following the match, Liton admitted the team failed in all aspects but remained hopeful of a turnaround. “We have to come back strongly. There are still two games,” he said.
Liton also stressed the need for better performance during the middle overs, where Bangladesh struggled despite a strong platform. Only Jaker Ali Anik showed some resistance, but couldn’t do it alone.
The Tigers have now lost all four T20Is played on Pakistani soil and hold a poor overall record against Pakistan, with just three wins in 20 matches. The team is expected to make changes in the lineup, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz likely to join the XI.
Pakistan, riding high after their all-round performance, will look to seal the series with a game to spare. Although their openers didn’t fire, the rest of the lineup delivered under pressure.
The stage is set for a high-stakes clash as Bangladesh fight to keep the series alive and redeem their recent form.
