ACC Launches Multiple Anti-Corruption Drives Across Bangladesh, Confirms Initial Allegations

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a series of enforcement operations on Tuesday in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Moulvibazar in response to various corruption allegations, confirming initial evidence in each case.

In Dhaka, ACC officials investigated a complaint against a RAJUK employee accused of acquiring numerous flats illegally. During the operation, the team interviewed local residents and concerned parties, confirming the primary validity of the allegations. They later collected documentation related to the employee’s ownership of flats and plots.

In a separate drive, the ACC visited the Chittagong City Corporation over allegations of irregularities in the promotion process within its electricity sub-division. Statements were taken from the mayor, CEO, and secretary, followed by the collection of relevant records linked to the complaint.

Meanwhile, in Moulvibazar, the ACC’s Habiganj Integrated District Office responded to reports of mismanagement and irregularities in patient care at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. The team inspected patient meals, visited various wards, and interacted with patients and outdoor service seekers to assess service quality and possible harassment.

Patients expressed satisfaction with the ACC’s intervention, noting a positive shift in healthcare services since a public hearing held on May 18.

The ACC stated that such operations will continue as part of its ongoing effort to curb corruption and ensure public service accountability.
