Sumaiya, a 23-year-old woman from Tilagarh village in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar, was found dead on Sunday, reportedly having taken her own life by hanging.
She was the wife of Muhitur Rahman, also a resident of the same village.
According to Sub-Inspector Raton Hawlader of Shomshernagar Police Station, locals discovered her hanging from the ceiling in her room and immediately notified the authorities. Police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Moulvibazar General Hospital for an autopsy.
Preliminary observations suggest that a family dispute may have led to the tragic incident, the officer added.
