Fourteen alleged “Indian-backed” terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Dutt Khel area of North Waziristan, Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday. The Pakistan Army claimed the militants belonged to a group named “Fitna Al Khwariz” and were eliminated in a targeted strike.
A sanitization operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining threats. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the military’s efforts and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eradicate terrorism.
The operation follows a similar incident in Balochistan’s Mach area, where five more militants labeled as “Indian proxies” were killed. Meanwhile, a recent report from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies revealed a rise in attacks, with 85 incidents in May resulting in 113 deaths.
