The government has promoted 12 senior police officers to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP), according to a gazette notification issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Towhid Bin Hasan, confirmed that the promotions were made following the recommendations of the Superior Selection Board, which received final approval from the Chief Adviser during a meeting held on May 8.
The newly promoted officers are:
- Md Golam Rasul – Special Branch
- AKM Awlad Hossain – Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Dhaka Range
- Md Akram Hossain – Police Headquarters
- Hasib Aziz – Police Commissioner, Chattogram
- Gazi Jashim Uddin – DIG, Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
- Abu Naser Mohammad Khaled – Police Headquarters
- Rezaul Karim – Police Commissioner, Sylhet
- Khandakar Rafiqul Islam – Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU)
- Md Mostafa Kamal – Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI)
- Mosleh Uddin Ahmad – Police Headquarters
- Md Sibgat Ullah – DIG, Industrial Police
- Sardar Nurul Amin – Director (DIG), Police Hospital
The promotions are expected to strengthen leadership across various key departments and units of the national police force.
